Two-day Internal Hackathon 2025 at Amity University Chhattisgarh begins

Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Institution's Innovation Cell (IIC), Amity University Chhattisgarh, Raipur is organising the Internal Smart India Hackathon 2025 (ISIH 2025) on 17th -18th September 2025 to select the nominations of 45 teams and 5 waitlisted teams from Amity University, Raipur to the National Level Smart India Hackathon 2025 Edition was inaugurated on Wednesday.

Addressing the inaugural session, Abhishek Kumar Singh (IFS), Conservator of Forest, Government of Chhattisgarh made a call for education to build business through entrepreneurial efforts, individualistic creation of equities, live one’s own dream not the one enforced by others in the world scenario of competitive nation states. He evoked the students to develop a mindset of innovation for wealth-generation as there exists supportive environment for evolving best technologies from university campuses and the governmental fundings support the entrepreneurial efforts by the students.

A note of appreciation to Amity University Chhattisgarh in fetching a place in the Innovation Map of the country thereby motivating the participants of Internal Hackathon was extended by Abhishek Ranjan, Innovation Officer, Central Region, Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and called for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship culture in India's higher education institutions evolving solutions addressing problems at the local level.  

Guiding participants, Prof. Piyush Kant Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Amity University said, if one can identify the opportunities at appropriate time assimilating the much-needed skill sets, one will succeed in life. He motivated the young innovators stating that winning the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathorn would open doors to be a billionaire and the students hold the option to reach out to their dreams to achieve success through out-of-box thinking and innovative practices.

Prof. Sumita Dave, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and IIC President, Amity University Raipur highlighted the salient infrastructure and practices in place at Amity campus encouraging the entrepreneurial journey of students, leaving no stone unturned. Prof. Roshan Mathew, Vice President, IIC and Head, Amity Innovation Incubator envisaged the resurgence of a new resilient India from design boards.  

Sixty-Six teams, each team consisting of six members totaling up to a participation of 396 student innovators from multi-disciples with significant presence of women supported by faculty mentors in each team is the key highlight of Internal Hackathon2025 at Amity University, Raipur campus. The teams selected multiple Problem Statements mooted by the various Ministries of Government of India and State Governments for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 edition addressing rural area education, biodiversity, traffic monitoring and management, mental health and psychological practices,  ecotourism and tourist safety, marine life, farming practices, ayurvedic herbs, water conservation, Fintech, water conservation, healthcare, recycling, sports talent assessment, food storage infrastructure, supply chain transparency for agriculture etc.

An inhouse team of faculty members supported by Ms. Namrata Yadu, Director, Chhattisgarh Mushroom and Mr. Atul Pradhan, Founder, Agrivite are the jury members that would be evaluating each of the Problem Statements solutions of various of by Central Ministries and State Governments presented by the team members. The suggestions and mentoring by the Jury members would be further accommodated by incorporating changes in the proposed solutions by each team extending to full night hours of September 17, 2024 (36 hours-Internal Hackathon).  

Dr. Munna Dan, Convener – IIC, Dr. Sumit Kumar Banchhor, SPOC-Internal Hackathon, Deans, Directors, HoIs, HoDs, faculty members and innovator students were present during the inaugural functions of ISIH 2025 of Amity University. Amity Innovation Incubator, Raipur will be mentoring the selected solutions’ teams for representation in the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon which would be scheduled in December 2025 at the national level.
